Members of the Killeen Heights Rotary Club are rolling up their sleeves and digging into service—literally. Each month, on the second Wednesday, Rotarians gather at the Killeen Food Care Center to tend the community garden, helping prepare it for the upcoming spring planting season.

This hands-on project plays an important role in supporting the Food Care Center’s mission of providing nourishment to individuals and families in need. By maintaining the garden beds, clearing debris, and preparing the soil, Rotary members help ensure a successful growing season that will produce fresh, healthy food for the community.

Beyond the physical work, the project reflects Rotary’s commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting sustainable solutions. The garden represents more than plants—it represents hope, dignity, and the power of neighbors helping neighbors.

Through their ongoing monthly service, the Killeen Heights Rotary Club continues to demonstrate that meaningful impact often begins with small acts of care, cultivated over time. Their dedication ensures that when spring arrives, the garden—and the community it serves—will be ready to flourish.
