Fort Hood Commander Reflects on first 100 days

"Let's make the great place greater" was the emphasis from Lieutenant General Lynch at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights.Ãƒ'Ã'Â Lynch spoke to nearly 200 members of the Club and guests Friday, Oct. 24 at the Shilo Inns.

Lieutenant General Rick Lynch, Commanding General of III Corps and Fort Hood, spoke to about 200 members and guests at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights.Ãƒ'Ã'Â

Lynch reflected on his first 100 days since assuming command of III Corps and Fort Hood on July 18, 2008.Ãƒ'Ã'Â "We need to focus on three areas to make the great place greater," Lynch said.Ãƒ'Ã'Â Community relations, family first, and spiritual fitness is the campaign plan for Fort Hood, according to Lynch.Ãƒ'Ã'Â He explained, "ten percent of America's Army is at Fort Hood."Ãƒ'Ã'Â

Lynch also showed the group a video on the progress soldiers are making in Iraq and the great things "your Army" is doing on the battlefield of Iraq.Ãƒ'Ã'Â

Lynch ended his presentation by telling those in attendance "no community in the world is more compassionate, caring for their soldiers than central Texas."Ãƒ'Ã'Â "We could focus on the fight because you're focused on our families," he concluded.
