Rotary Mourns John Houston

A Memorial Mass for former Rotarian John Houston, 58, of Temple will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at St. Luke Catholic Church. Mr. Houston died Thursday, April 7, in an Austin hospital. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights from July 2007 through the end of Octobr 2010.
He was born on June 1, 1952, to Wayne and Sylvia Van Ryper Houston in New York, N.Y. He graduated in 1970, from Princeton High School in Princeton, N.J. He worked for Leibowitz Insurance in Belton and Extraco Banks in Harker Heights as an insurance consultant.
Survivors include his wife, Christie Houston; a brother, Andrew Houston of Manhattan, N.Y.; and a sister, Mora Cronin of St. Helena, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Animal Shelter, 620 Mama Dog Circle, Temple, TX 76501.Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
