A few weeks ago, our club initiated the "Five For One" plan in which we broke the club down into teams of five to come up with one new member applicant. Have you met with your team yet? Do you have any names that your team is mulling over?

Before and after regular club meetings is a great time to come up with a strategy for seeking new members to our club. Do the members on your team regularly attend our meetingsâ€"if not, you may want to make that call/email now so that your team can have a fruitful meeting after/before the meeting. As you can see, this new plan is a great way to increase our meeting attendance as well!

Why the push for new members? Clearly, our club is not a club that goes for numbers just for the sake of numbers. I think we can all agree that we would love to have new faces in our club that bring diversity to our businesses, talents, and experiences. Having new faces means new business contacts, new ideas, and expanded opportunities for projects and programs.

Perhaps the best way to determine who you would like to approach as a prospect is to consider who you would like to seek business with; who is an interesting personality that would bring some fun to our meetings and events; who has a unique perspective or experience that we all could benefit from?? Does this cause you to think of someone in particular? If so, talk about him/her with your team and invite her/him to a meeting.

The Five For One Plan only works if someone in each group steps up and kicks the ball to get it rolling. YOU are that person! Start today by ensuring that your group of five discusses our future this Friday and makes a plan for contributing to our drive for new members. I look forward to meeting your prospective new members!

Yours in Rotary,

Steve WaldenÂ
