Constitution and By-Laws of the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights
Because of the nature and importance of our Constitution and By-Laws, and because members' rights are spelled out in them, we believe that a copy of these documents should be readily available to every member of the club. Additionally, by joining our club, a prospective member agrees to be bound by these rules, and it's reasonable to assume that they might want to look over the bylaws in advance.
Club Constitution
Rotary clubs operate under the Standard Rotary Constitution, originally adopted in 1922. It contains the club's name, definition of its territorial limits, and rules for regular club meetings, membership, attendance, admission fees, and dues. It provides for a board of directors as the club's governing body, along with a president and other officers. Their terms of office, like those of international and district officers, begin on 1 July each year.
By-Laws
A club's bylaws further define its operating procedures as laid out in the club's constitution. While many clubs simply adopt the standard Recommended Rotary Club Bylaws as drafted by Rotary International, the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights adopted highly tailored bylaws that more closely reflect our operations and goals. The bylaws include a club committee structure to carry out the club's annual and long-range goals.
