If you've never been to an ice hockey game, then are you in for a real treat! On March 4th, the RC of Killeen Heights is having a Family of Rotary event at the Cedar Park Center, home of the Texas Stars hockey team of the American Hockey League. The game starts at 7:30PM but some of us, in that great Longhorn tradition, are planning to Come Early, Be Loud, and Stay Late!
This team is the top affiliate of the NHL Dallas Stars. And, yes, while fighting is officially prohibited in the rules, it is both a source of criticism and a considerable draw for the sport.
As a bonus, this Family of Rotary event doubles as a Polio Eradication fundraiser 'cause the Texas Stars are going to rebate a significant portion of the ticket price to The Rotary Foundation.
