Acts of Kindness
Posted by Steven Walden
As Rotarians, we are all familiar with the motto "Service Above Self." I did some reading this week on service and found the following quotes that gave me inspiration.
One recurring theme is that we should not be intimidated by service through the belief that in order for it to be valuable it has to be huge or a tremendous sacrifice. Consistent and frequent acts of kindness, no matter how small, lead to great impact on others.
If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one. ~Mother Teresa
The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit. ~Nelson Henderson
A bone to the dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog. ~Jack London
The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of tiny pushes of each honest worker. ~Helen Keller
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. ~Winston Churchill
Have a fruitful week.

For this week's message, I am going to pass along the wisdom of others . . . .
